The large pup padded oddly through the stray camp, looking around, in awe. He understood just well how Kaloosh did it, lived the life, it just seemed so... free. He flicked his tail, letting his shield down, and not paying attention to the world around him, not a smart thing to do in a camp full of hostiles. He padded the ground and neared a tree stump, he sniffed down to smell it, smelled like blood, like fresh kill. He pricked his ears. Prey was near by. He was a sled dog pup, mentored by the master of masters, Kaloosh. He wanted to try his paw at hunting. He wiggled his tail, happy, and sniffed the mangled air the best he could over the many smells, and just managed to pick up rabbit. He moved far from stealthly through the grass, seein the rabbit, he was like a clumsy polar bear trying to hunt in the forest. The rabbit heard him before it saw him, and birsted off, with a quick as a whip Jay running behind it. He almost had it.... oof! everything faded out.... he came to, how long had passed? There was no rabbit to be seen. He had blacked out, and he looked around, he had been so clumsy as to trip over a bloulder half his size on the run! He shook his head, trying to clear it, and stumbled to his paws, looking around foolishly, hoping no one had saw, expecialy not his roll modle, Kaloosh.

Oh great...he had told this pup not to come here, not while he was so untrained! Kaloosh had been watching from the Meeting Ledge where he could see every bit of the land. He jumped off and ran towards the pup, seeing him trip and fall to the ground, he knew that this dog shouldn't be here and definatly needed these lessons if he ever wished to succeed in life! He shook his head, knowing he had a lot of work to do, and set off at a fall run, leaping, and pinning the pup to the ground, not hard but put just enough pressure on Jay to keep him down. "What are you doing here? I said come anywhere but here, you could have been killed not I have found you first!" he snarled, teeth bared as he glared down into Jay's puppy face.

Jay didn't see kit mentor as he leaped down and pinned, when he felt the claws flex into his fur, he had though he had been attacked by a wolf. Such power Kaloosh held! He was the master. Not knowing it had been Kaloosh, Jay squirmed, kicking his mentor one in sharply in the belly with a back paw, before letting the frenzy drain for his eyes, recognizing Kaloosh's voice. He calmed, and a look of shame crawled into his face, "I didn't see no one around Kaloosh! Honest!" He said in the loudest voice he could manage, wich wasn't loud enouph. He tryed to squirm from under his mentor's paws, but gave up, he as to weak compared to the stray, and layed limp, fear in his eyes, what kind of punishment would Kaloosh do to the pup? Kaloosh jumped off of the pup, but not before giving him a hard nudge in the side telling him to get on his feet. Of course he promised to train this dog in ways of both stray and sled, but he didn't say he would be nice or go easy about it. Not waiting for the dog to get on his feet, he started to talk. "Lesson number one is to always keep your guard. A pup like you could get easilly ripped apart by one of the stray pups." Then he started to circle the dog, whispering so that it was barely audible, 'always keep your guard.' Then suddenly leaped at the pup, hoping that Jay would move with quick enough reflexes so that he missed. That would show he actually learned something. But if Kaloosh pinned him again, he hadn't been listening.

Jay, who hadn't really been listening, watched as his mentor leaped at him. With a flash of instinct, he twisted away seconds before he would have been hit, and there was a flash of question in his eyes, and he spoke nothing.

Kaloosh, landing right on his feet, turned and nodded to his apprentice telling him that was better. Not much, for he could tell the pup hadn't been listening but still moved away, but better, and that was all that counted. "Now, you kept your guard good...enough. Hmmm, now I wonder where the others have gone. I could use a little help with you..." He needed more then one dog for his next test he was to put on the pup. His first thought came to Fang, but he would kill the pup rather than train him. And Felony, eh, she was a female, she would take it to easy. And Ponyboy and Johnny, well, they hated him and he hated them, so maybe not a good idea. He guessed which ever dog showed up first got the job.

Johnny strolled into the Barren lands with, for once, his eyes were cold. That pup that had been kicked to much just seemed to kick back in his eyes. He wasn't much for Brittany anymore. Hell, she dissed him and she dropped him good and hard. And Sampson, damn wise dog alright. Ha. Yeah right he didn't know pudding from poop yet alone to keep his nose in his business. He gazed at Kaloosh and the pup, his own young eyes staring with new born hate for alot of dogs around here. He wasn't going to race anymore. He might kill. That'd be darn fun alright, jump 'em all. Though he didn't seem like that...but still.
"Hell yeah, any stray outto rip you limp from limb."
He gave a toothy grin that was kind of freakish in it's own way. Should he attack them? He needed to blow his anger out on something, but decided against. Ponyboy arrived shortly and sat down beside Johnny, as "tuff" looking as ever. He had a mischievous glisten in his eye. Rumble. That's what it said. He got the message that they wouldn't be going back to Midnight Trails, and he understood. Too many hormonal beaches. It's not like he forgot what happened between them and Kaloosh though, but they weren't interested in protecting Brittany anymore. She had that old hag and that young dumb brute to look after her. Kaloosh was more a greaser like them, if you looked at it that way. Any pet dog was a Soc, and the strays were on the other side of the river.
"Sounds like fun."
Ponyboy smirked but if you were smart you could tell they were just antagonising the pup, seeing what's his temper and what he really can handle.

Jay snarled at the new loners, Poneyboy and Johnny, his young teeth glimmering white. "Who the Hell are you?" He growled, and got to his paws, looking at Kaloosh, and then to the two new dogs; they had a stupid accent that didn't belong here, they were some sort of outsiders, or at least thats what the pup took them as. The pup flexed his claws, padding over beside his mentor, Kaloosh.

Kaloosh looked over at Ponyboy and Johnny as they approched, of course he remembered their little episode in Stacey's home, but now that they were out here with the other strays it seemed not to matter as much. "What are you two doing out here?" He snarled, even though it wasn't a threatning question as Jay was trying his to be, but the snarling, heh; it just came natural, and he did want to know why they weren't back in the house with Brittany, but decided against it to ask. The dog kicked Jay in the side with a back foot to push him towards Ponyboy and Johnny, for he was showing signs of cowardness being beside him.

Jay felt the dull thud in his side, and looked up at Kaloosh with an untrusting snarl, he turned to the two strays, and made a true snarl, a growl rasing from his throat, and repeated his question from where he stood, angered and flustered, "Who the hell are you?!" (can we say anger problems?)

Ponyboy almost burst laughing and nudged Johnny hard. Johnny sort of grinned mischeiviously back, wagging his tail. It was true. When you were out here, where did old house-pet fights come to mind? He wasn't going back there.
"I wassa thinkin' I should help with dis pup of yer's."
He gazed at the angermental puppy and smirked. Pony rolled over a bit, holding in a laugh, and like Kaloosh, Johnny gave him a good kick in the side. He squeaked and stood up.
"Who da hell am I?"
He stood up and circled the pup.
"Who...da hell am I?!"
He got real close to the pup's face and lifted his jaws, snapping a hair from his nose.
"Yer' worst nightmere kid. Whatcha'll workin' on 'ere?"
He looked at Kaloosh for reference and Ponyboy sat by the kid that couldn't be too much younger than himself.
"He dun' mean nothin', k?"

Kaloosh watched the two, looking down at Jay without a care in the world, he figured that if he couldn't survive with these two, then he really didn't belong out here, and he didn't deserve him as a mentor, I mean after all, he was the master, "I'm working on getting this pup to keep his guard for lesson number one!" ((Brain Dead!))

Jay snarled, "Cut the cheesy accent, mutt! Before you give me a head ache!" He glared at Johny, "Yes, thats what I said, unless your as dumb as you look!" He flicked his tail, and smirked back at the older dog.

"Eh, Chessy huh?" Johnny looked at Ponyboy who seemed surprized that someone would say that he looked dumb. "Dis aint no fricking joke and Pony aint playin' a game so suck the insults or suck as*" Johnny hissed and Ponyboy's eyes widened at the boldness of his language. "Heh...that time...he wussint jokin' puppy."
